An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Demand Action on Police Violence Against Black Americans

127 so far! Help us get to 250 signers!

A Mississippi police officer shot and killed one-year-old Kohen Wiley in a Walmart parking lot — over diapers. His mother was holding him when the cop opened fire at their car. This is not an isolated tragedy. From Karmelo Anthony to Samuel Brown, Black people are being killed by police at a rate that demands a legislative response, not another moment of silence. This pattern is systemic and it is old. It did not begin with viral videos and it will not end without structural reform. I want you to champion meaningful federal accountability legislation — independent oversight, mandatory use-of-force restrictions, and real consequences for officers who kill. The current system protects the badge, not the people. A baby is dead. That should be the end of any argument that this can wait.
