Remove partisan rhetoric from government webpages. Oct 1, 2025. The federal government began a shutdown today. The President and fellow republicans are blaming the shutdown on democrats, despite republicans controlling the Senate, the House, and the Presidency. This morning, the Department of Housing and Urban Development web page includes a statement in a large red block declaring: “The Radical Left in Congress shut down the government. HUD will use available resources to help Americans in need.” There is also a pop-up box that appears over top of this with the same message. This is completely unacceptable. It must be removed immediately. No similar actions should be taken by other agencies, now or in the future.
