An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Goodbye, PBS

2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

May 1, 1969. Fred Rogers testifies before Congress about the importance of public television. He discusses his deep care for children and for the thing they're seeing on TV. He wants educational experiences, not rage and fear and violence. He gets the funding for PBS. He shares how to handle big feelings, especially big anger. This footage is freely available on the internet if you'd like to review it. I hope you know that Mr Rogers would personally be disappointed in you and the actions of this country in depriving millions of children of educational content. Big Bird and Elmo probably are none too pleased themselves. Revisit your neglected inner child sometime. Maybe then you'll see the amount of harm you've caused.
