An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Stop CDC From Funding Unethical Hep B Research on West African Babies

4 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

News has come out of the $1.6 million award from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for a trial of hepatitis B vaccines in newborn babies in the West African nation of Guinea-Bissau. The funding is for an unsolicited proposal from anti-vaxxer group in Denmark that has frequently been criticized. This study is not only deeply unethical, as withholding effective vaccines from babies at high risk of contracting disease is vile and horrific, but it's also completely redundant, as the Hepatitis B vaccine is already known to be efficacious and safe. The agency’s award came after it revoked a longtime recommendation that all U.S. newborns get their first dose of the vaccine at birth. RFK Jr will be looked at by history as one of the worst things to have happened to the world, and Congress will be complicit in that for allowing him to push us into the dark ages of medical ignorance and unethical research. Stop the HHS from funding this study.
