Gov. Ferguson - Protect our data and privacy rights!

Over the last two months, we have seen the data of our immigrant communities' sensitive data, held by Washington State, be shared with the federal government to fuel their attacks on our Immigrant Communities, and lead to the detaining, snatching, and deporting of our community members.
Over the years, Washington State has been a welcoming state to all, no matter where we come from, and a leader in protecting immigrant communities. We've built trust with our immigrant neighbors, such as gaining access to driver's licenses to get to work and school, and access to healthcare to live thriving and healthy lives. But now, that trust is being broken. Washington State has an opportunity to recreate that trust and once again become a leader in protecting our immigrant communities and their data, and the data of all Washingtonians.
We call on you, Governor Ferguson, to use your executive authority to:
Through Executive Action, initiate and formalize an audit of all state agencies’ data collection, retention, and sharing practices, and make the process and timeline of the audit transparent to the public.
Require all state agencies to include Keep Washington Working requirements in state contracts.
Hire additional staff in the Governor's office that specialize in immigration and data to ensure our communities' sensitive data is proactively safeguarded and that there is deeper engagement and expertise to effectively respond to challenges posed to Washington’s immigrant communities.
Can I count on you, Governor Ferguson, to take proactive action and protect and stand with our Immigrant Communities in Washington?
