An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Halt Mass Firing of Dedicated Federal Workers

15 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

We must urgently halt the unwarranted mass firing of dedicated federal workers across crucial agencies like FEMA, the IRS, CDC, DOD, Education, Veterans Affairs, Forest Service, CFPB, FAA and TSA. These reckless layoffs orchestrated by an unelected billionaire jeopardize vital services that keep Americans safe and our government functioning properly. Many terminated staff had to be hastily rehired, including those managing our nuclear arsenal, showcasing the severe disruption caused. Personal vendettas also seem to have motivated dismissals of personnel investigating Musk's companies. Federal labor unions have rightly sued to challenge this unconstitutional overreach of executive power. Dedicated public servants should not lose their livelihoods to advance Trump's agenda of billionaire tax cuts over a working society. Congress must intervene to reinstall these workers and rein in this dangerous executive overreach undermining our democracy.
