G7 Summit - Middle East Peace Building

I am writing you with sincere urgency to address the violence against civilians occurring in Palestine as well as the loss of lives of Israeli citizens. The road to peace is long but must start now. I am specifically asking you to prioritize peace-building initiatives at the upcoming G7 Apulia Summit. The Alliance for Middle East Peace has taken the time to suggest language that can be added to the Leaders’ Communique that commits G7 states to more intentional peace building efforts. It says: "We affirm our commitment to working together multilaterally - and with other international partners - to closely coordinate and institutionalize our support for civil society peacebuilding efforts. Ensuring that such efforts are part of a larger strategy to build the foundations necessary for a negotiated and lasting Israeli-Palestinian peace." I ask that you consider this in your upcoming conversations to avoid future heartbreaking conflict in the region. It is important the U.S. takes a proactive stance on peace.
