An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Halt abusive deportations, uphold human rights and due process.

The Supreme Court ordered the Trump administration to "facilitate" the return of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, a Maryland man wrongfully deported to El Salvador despite being protected from removal. By failing to take meaningful steps to secure his release from the abusive CECOT prison, the administration is defying the court's directive. Appropriate action must be taken swiftly to comply with the judiciary's ruling and bring Mr. Abrego Garcia back to the United States without further delay. The prolonged detainment of this father of three violates principles of due process and human rights.
