Congress: Support Women and Minorities in STEM Booster Act of 2025
15 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!
Today I take pen in hand to write and urge your support for promoting diversity in STEM fields via H.R. 3124 and/or S. 1534.
The Women and Underrepresented Minorities in STEM Booster Act of 2025 is crucial for fostering innovation and addressing our nation's most pressing challenges across science and technology fields.
The continued underrepresentation of women, racial minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people with disabilities in these fields deprives us of valuable perspectives and talent.
I urge you to co-sponsor the Women and Underrepresented Minorities in STEM Booster Act, which would authorize grants for programs aimed at recruiting, retaining, and providing professional development opportunities for these groups.
Research shows that diverse teams outperform homogeneous ones, driving higher rates of innovation. However, systemic barriers prevent many underrepresented groups from pursuing or remaining in STEM careers.
As you may know, this legislation would fund initiatives like mentoring, internships, outreach to students, and efforts to increase faculty diversity - critical steps toward building an inclusive STEM workforce that reflects the diversity of our nation.
As a member of Congress, you have to be committed to scientific advancement and economic competitiveness, you have here in this bill an opportunity to champion that.
Investing in diversity is not only a matter of equity, but also a strategic imperative to maintain America's global leadership in STEM fields. I urge you to co-sponsor this act and help ensure our nation benefits from the boundless potential of all its people. Thank you.
