An open letter to the U.S. Congress

250 Years of Democracy: Don’t Break It Now

4 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

I am writing as your constituent to demand that you take a clear, unambiguous stand against any attempt — by any person or party — to delay, suspend, or cancel American elections. For 250 years, this nation has voted. Through the War of 1812. Through a Civil War that split the country in two. Through two World Wars, with our sons and daughters fighting and dying overseas. In 1864, Abraham Lincoln held an election in the middle of the bloodiest conflict on American soil — because he understood that the vote is the Republic. No emergency, no executive preference, no political convenience justifies breaking that covenant with the American people. The Constitution does not include a pause button. Elections cannot be delayed. Elections will not be cancelled. That is not a partisan position — it is the foundation upon which every other right we hold depends. I am asking you to go on record today. Oppose any legislation, executive action, or policy that would postpone, restrict, or nullify scheduled elections at any level of government. Affirm publicly that the peaceful transfer of power through free and fair elections is non-negotiable. History is watching. Your constituents are watching. Do not be on the wrong side of either. The Constitution is not optional. Respectfully,
