An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress

Researching dangerous diseases saves lives and is the real pro-life position.

The Trump administration's decision to halt research on deadly infectious diseases like Ebola, Lassa fever, and Eastern equine encephalitis at the National Institutes of Health's Integrated Research Facility is concerning. This facility plays a vital role in studying and developing treatments for these highly contagious and lethal diseases that pose significant public health risks. Putting a stop to this critical work jeopardizes our ability to combat future outbreaks and save lives. Researching these diseases is imperative for advancing medical knowledge, improving preparedness, and ultimately preventing unnecessary loss of life. This decision prioritizes politics over public safety and health. The facility should be allowed to resume its important research immediately in the interest of protecting the American people and global community from the devastating impacts of emerging infectious diseases. Continuing this scientific work is truly the pro-life stance.
