STOP THE PROPOSED THIRD-COUNTRY ASYLUM TRANSIT BAN!

I know your administration has announced its intent to resurrect a Trump era policy that would ban asylum to anyone traveling through a third country. This is a violation of U.S. law which guarantees the right of any individual to apply for asylum, and favors those with resources (who can come directly by air) over the most vulnerable. This policy will lead to more family separations, and puts Black, Brown and LGBTQ people at more risk. It’s a repudiation of your campaign promises to restore a fair and just asylum system. It also makes your administration culpable in abuses that we thought only Republicans were capable of. We must be better than Trump and his followers. Please do not pursue this policy! Thanks.
