The evidence suggests that this collapse is not merely a technical failure but the direct result of deliberate U.S. policies. The current oil blockade—including the interception of shipments and the threat of secondary sanctions on third-party nations—has effectively severed Cuba’s energy lifeline. This is not a targeted political measure; it is a form of collective punishment that impacts the most vulnerable. Furthermore, I am deeply disturbed by the aggressive and militaristic rhetoric emerging from the White House. History has shown that such aggressive posturing in Latin America rarely leads to stability or democracy; instead, it fuels migration crises, regional instability, and immense human suffering.
The United Nations and various human rights organizations have warned that these actions are triggering a humanitarian "collapse." Using the deprivation of basic necessities—fuel, food, and medicine—as a tool of foreign policy is inhumane and violates the spirit of international law.
As my representative, I urge you to:
Publicly oppose any military action or "takeover" plans directed at Cuba.
Call for an immediate humanitarian waiver on fuel and medicine to prevent further loss of life during this grid failure.
