Pass AB2148 and Protect California Teachers from AI-Driven Retaliation

Please vote yes on AB2148. Teachers across California are being told to grade with AI, draft lesson plans with AI, and let algorithms shape decisions about their own performance. When a teacher refuses, or when an automated system flags them unfairly, they need a clear legal protection. This bill provides it. Educational technology vendors moved fast and pushed school districts to buy in without giving educators a meaningful way to opt out. A teacher who decides a tool is bad for kids should not lose their job for saying so. And no teacher should face discipline because an opaque AI system, with no transparency and no appeals process, decided they fell short. The bipartisan support behind this from Assemblymembers Muratsuchi and Hoover shows this is not a partisan question. It is a basic workplace fairness question, and California is the right state to set the bar. Vote yes and send it to the Senate.
