We have witnessed a shocking level of lying, evasion, and misrepresentation from those involved in Signalgate. Whether or not a journalist was included, the use of the signal app for highly confidential military planning remains illegal, contravenes DOD policy, and endangers our nation. We know know that Wittkowitz was in the Kremlin when he visited the chat and Tulsi Gabbard was in an undisclosed foreign country.
I am alarmed that those responsible are trying to lie and deflect their way out of the worst security breach of the past hundred years. I don't need to spell out all the implications of this scandal-- the harm to our credibility and alliances, the potential danger to Americans in the armed services, the violation of the official records act as well as 18 USC 793 f.
Immediate resignations and dismissals should have followed.
Please do not let this scandal rest. Investigate, make criminal referrals, impeach those involved. The president has condoned illegality that endangers national security. No one who swore an oath to the constitution should let this rest.
