I urge you to immediately sponsor a supplemental bill to support Ukraine and approve an additional $24 Billion that President Biden’s administration has requested. I agree with the President that we cannot afford to interrupt our support for Ukraine. It is a travesty that the far-right MAGA minority has stripped Ukraine funding out of the CR as a stop-gap measure.
The leaders of both parties must be held to their word. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said he would put a supplemental spending bill for Ukraine on the floor next week. “This is a bridge CR and Leader McConnell and I (Schumer) have agreed to continue fighting for more economic and security aid for Ukraine. We support Ukraine’s efforts to defend its sovereignty against Putin’s aggression.” (Kansas Reflector 9/30)
There is no time to spare. Act quickly and aggressively, and don’t let the House MAGA hold us hostage to a far-right, pro-Putin agenda.
