By shutting down CIGIE (the government's inspector general watchdog) the Trump administration is continuing its efforts to get rid of as many mechanisms of accountability as possible. They are unilaterally and unlawfully overriding a congressional budget priority. Let's be clear: this has nothing to do with the government shutdown and it is not ok.
