Please do not vote to destroy the American safety net today. Out of all the industrialized countries in the world, we are the only one who has not figured out universal healthcare for our citizens. Our entire system is dependent on having a full-time job in order to get healthcare, but if you get sick and cannot work, you lose that healthcare and have to use Medicaid. The very system we have created in this country requires Medicaid be quickly and easily accessed by people who cannot work, whether temporarily or long-term. And a budget that gives bigger tax breaks to billionaires with gold-plated toilets by taking food assistance away from hungry children should be something you are too ashamed to vote yes on. Please find your conscience, and vote no on this bill.
