Covid Vaccine Mandate

My husband and I are fully vaccinated against Covid. Our kids are vaccinated from other diseases but are currently too young to receive a covid vaccine. Eventually we will get them vaccinated from Covid, however we believe that mandating this vaccine (as well as the others) in order for them to go to school is over-stepping the boundaries between legislation and the medical field. You are not a doctor, specifically a pediatrician. To be fair, neither am I nor my husband. This is why rely on the knowledge of our doctors along with the trust and rapport we’ve built over the years. My sister, who had lived in CA for 20 years, as well as her son whom had been born here, had to move to Portugal because of vaccine mandates. He is unable to get vaccinated due to certain hereditary ailments that will cause more harm than not, if he were to be vaccinated. No one should have to leave their home nor miss out on school because a politician has the hubris to think they know better than all of the doctors in the state. I implore you to not mandate the covid vaccine - as well as retract vaccine mandates - for children and allow the doctor and parent or child (if old enough) to make their own decision. You will certainly see less opposition to receiving vaccines and maybe we can get to herd levels, like we need to be. If you want to know if that works, just look at our sister countries in Europe.
