Trump is not functioning as a president should. Nor is his cabinet. Or his Congress.
The FBI is arresting judges. And his FBI director boasted about it on social media.
AG Bondi immediately went on Fox, attacking the judge.
As one legal analyst noted, “If you’re a prosecutor who is serious about obtaining a conviction, you don’t go on Fox and talk about the (alleged) facts of the case like this.”
Trump has directed the DOJ to investigate ActBlue, the platform that handles the fundraising for almost all Democratic candidates accusing it, without evidence, of accepting straw and foreign donations. An accusation Trump himself keeps repeating. Without evidence.
Trump’s administration just deported a 2 year old American citizen, apparently without due process.
Trump has pardoned convicted criminals (who had due process) and imprisons those who’ve been convicted of no crimes.
Trump announced this week that the top 220 buyers of his $Trump meme coin between now and mid-May will be invited to an exclusive dinner on May 22 (“a night to remember”) at his golf club outside Washington, D.C.
The WaPo and other outlets have reported in the days since the announcement, “buyers have poured tens of millions of dollars” into the coin. That holders of 27 crypto wallets have acquired at least 100,000 coins apiece, “stakes worth about a million dollars each.”
The dinner announcement boosted the value of the crypto wallets owned by a digital firm affiliated with Trump’s family business by roughly $100M
Holders of crypto wallets are mostly anonymous, if they want to be. We’ll never know what businesses or countries or sovereign wealth funds or whatever they might be are putting money into the president’s pocket.
.Pay to play corruption of the presidency in full bloom.
Lastly, the convo that illustrates the kind of projection perfected by the President…”Mr. President, you were showing us the new paintings you have behind us. You put all these new portraits. One of them includes John Adams. John Adams said we’re a government ruled by laws, not by men. Do you agree with that?”
Trump replied: “John Adams said that? Where was the painting?”
When the interviewer pointed out the portrait, Trump said: “We’re a government ruled by laws, not by men? Well, I think we're a government ruled by law, but you know, somebody has to administer the law. So therefore men, certainly, men and women, certainly play a role in it. I wouldn't agree with it 100%. We are a government where men are involved in the process of law, and ideally, you're going to have honest men like me.”
John Adams is no doubt back in storage. And twirling in his grave.
Glad the GOP has established such high standards of service to the country. I expect the next president will appreciate it.
