Oppose Vote NO on H.R. 86 to Abolish OSHA for Worker Protection

Today I take open in hand to write and urge you to oppose and Vote NO on H.R. 86, Repealing the Occupational Safety and Health Act (NOSHA Act)
As anyone with half a brain can understand, this would be a grave mistake with disastrous consequences for American workers and the economy. No oversight of job site safety, construction sites, infrastructure projects? No standards for heat protections?
Representative Andy Biggs of Arizona is insane, or he might realize that in his state, they already have to do many civil works projects at night because Arizona has borderline unlivable temperatures in the cities in more months than ever, owing to climate change. Of course he ignores that fact.
To the contrary, early 690,000 lives have been saved since the OSH Act's passage in 1970, when workplace injuries and fatalities were rampant due to lack of oversight.
Allowing states to independently determine worker protections would inevitably lead to a race to the bottom as businesses seek out locations with lax regulations. Rather than abolishing this vital agency, we should be strengthening OSHA's ability to enforce standards and levy penalties that compel employer compliance.
Workplace safety should not be treated as an unnecessary burden, but as a moral and legal imperative to protect human lives. Every worker deserves to return home safely at the end of their shift.
I urge you to oppose H.R. 86 and any efforts to weaken or eliminate OSHA.
