DO NOT MAKE TEXAS A PART OF THIS MADNESS

Why is Governor Abbott allowing federalization of our Texas National Guard for a made-up pretense to attack American cities in states not our own? Why is he submitting to an authoritarian order that has no basis in reality? Why is he using Texas citizens who signed up to protect their state in times of need as political pawns in a game of blue state vs red state? Why is he supportive of sending 400 Texas National Guard members to assist with a takeover of Portland, Chicago and elsewhere as deemed necessary by an administration dead-set on punishing governors in states not our own? Would our Texas governor be happy if the shoe were on the other foot and NG from other states decided to show up in our cities? To police our citizens? Against his wishes? For absolutely no good reason? Of all the shameful things that our state has submitted to under the Trump administration, this is one of the lowest. Making a deal with the devil may work in the short term, but it never turns out well in the end. Our state leadership continues to make decisions in support of an administration that is tearing the fabric of America apart. And Texas is now a completely complicit partner. This is a shameful abuse of power. And puts our state in a position that its citizens did not ask for and do not want. This is wrong.
