COVID leadership should follow science, not politics

Stop prioritizing the appearance of public health over actual public health. The biggest threat from COVID isn't the acute phase, it's Long COVID, and pretending otherwise is pretending to care about public health while actually making it worse. The CDC's plan to allow people to stop isolating when they are still contagious is not science-based and is guaranteed to increase the spread of COVID, which will increase the prevalance of Long COVID, which will make the mass disability event we're already in worse and worse with no end in sight. The CDC needs to stop telling people what they want to hear and start telling them the truth about Long COVID and about what they should be doing to protect themselves and others. Anything less than that is an abdication of their responsibility for political reasons, and it's unacceptable.
