The recent resolution led by Matt Gaetz, asserting that Donald Trump did not engage in insurrection, is deeply troubling and frankly, repugnant. The audacity to dismiss the events of January 6th, 2021, and the role misinformation played in inciting violence is a gross misrepresentation of reality. Such resolutions dangerously undermine the severity of those events and could potentially embolden similar incidents in the future. It is a plea to you to prioritize truth and accountability over partisan politics for the integrity of our democracy. This stance needs urgent reconsideration.
