I strongly support the Senate Democrats' request for the SEC to investigate potential violations of securities law by President Trump, members of his Cabinet, donors, insiders, and other administration officials. The president's statement on April 9th calling it a "GREAT TIME TO BUY" into the stock market just hours before announcing a 90-day pause on recently imposed tariffs raises serious concerns about insider trading and market manipulation. The subsequent historic market rally after days of dramatic declines warrants scrutiny to ensure no laws were broken for personal financial gain. Maintaining integrity and public trust in our financial markets is paramount. A thorough, independent probe is critical to getting the facts and holding any guilty parties accountable, regardless of their position or political affiliations. I urge the SEC to expedite this investigation in the interest of protecting investors and upholding ethics in governance.
