An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures (La. only)
KEEP FILM ALIVE IN LOUISIANA
31 so far! Help us get to 50 signers!
PLEASE DO NOT ELIMINATE THE FILM TAX CREDIT INCENTIVES FOR LOUISIANA!
Here in Northern Louisiana, we have a community of film industry professionals that is BURSTING AT THE SEAMS!
We all want to work HERE, in our home state, where the people we love are!
We have the Louisiana Film Prize every October, which I invite you to attend before you make your decision!
We have cast and crew members who have been left behind after our Hollywood moment dried up thanks to Bobby Jindal doing what you are threatening to do again, and it hurt our ability to stay in state and earn and spend money right here in our community.
Now we have FIFTY CENT ready to jump into the game and take us to the next level, and right when all these amazing things are going to happen for our city and state, the rug is being pulled out from under us?
I understand that the arts are always the first to go on the chopping block when money needs to be saved, but I IMPLORE you to reconsider the ramifications of this decision which extend far beyond just money!
We CAN make great films here and put not just New Orleans but ALL OF LOUISIANA back on the map for filmmaking!
Just watch "Caddo Lake" on MAX to see what I'm talking about!
Don't cut us off at the knees right when we were getting ready to run.
Please accept every signature on this petition as a voice saying, "RECONSIDER!"
KEEP FILM IN LOUISIANA! KEEP FIFTY IN LOUISIANA!
Otherwise he's gonna leave us for Texas, and who wants that? He's much more WHO DAT than DEM COWBOYS lol
Thank you for listening.
Signed, a beloved filmmaking community in Shreveport, LA and beyond!
