The veto of House Bill 68, which aimed to limit medical care for transgender minors, was a major step towards protecting the rights of minorities in our state, as well as allowing for best medical practice. However, the newly proposed rules create such insurmountable barriers that trans individuals, adults and minors alike, likely could not recieve care at all in Ohio. This is a massive breach of freedom and autonomy, and it would result in rampant trauma, depression, and even the death of individuals experiencing severe gender dysphoria. It is essential to ensure future legislation respects all individuals' rights, regardless of gender identity and medical history. Reconsideration of these proposed rules is tantamount, with a focus on more inclusive policies. Your action on this legislation is deeply appreciated. This is a grave situation. Please do not do this to your citizens.
