Impose Immediate Arms Embargo on Israel to Stop Forced Displacement

I am writing to urge you to support an immediate arms embargo on Israel to halt the forced displacement of Palestinians funded by American taxpayer dollars. The escalating violence in the West Bank and threats of mass expulsion from Gaza demand urgent congressional action. In Jenin refugee camp, Israeli military forces have violently invaded and forced out 30,000 Palestinians from their homes. This is not an isolated incident. Across the West Bank, Israeli forces are providing armed protection to settlers as they repeatedly attack Palestinian communities. In Masafer Yatta, Palestinian farmers are facing relentless assaults as they attempt to remain on their ancestral land. These communities were featured in the Oscar-winning documentary "No Other Land," which documented their struggle against displacement. The situation has become even more dire with recent threats to permanently expel all 2 million Palestinians from Gaza. This represents ethnic cleansing on a massive scale, and American weapons and funding are enabling these actions. Our tax dollars should not support the forced removal of an entire population from their homeland. I am asking you to take concrete action by cosponsoring and voting for legislation that would impose an arms embargo on Israel. Congress has both the constitutional authority and moral obligation to determine how American weapons are used abroad. When those weapons facilitate war crimes and mass displacement of civilians, we must cut off that supply. The international community recognizes forced displacement as a violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention. The United States should not be complicit in these actions. I need to know that you will use your position to stop American funding and weapons transfers that enable these human rights violations. Will you commit to supporting an arms embargo on Israel?
