Uphold democratic norms, act on grassroots demands

The nationwide rallies on April 5th under the "Hands Off!" and "People's Veto Day" banners represent a powerful grassroots movement pushing back against the alarming erosion of democratic norms and civil liberties under the current administration. These events, taking place across California and the United States, denounce the relentless attacks on marginalized communities, assault on constitutional rights, and prioritization of corporate interests over the needs of working people. As an elected representative, you have a fundamental responsibility to safeguard the principles enshrined in our Constitution and protect the freedoms that define our nation. The demands articulated through these protests - ending the billionaire takeover of government, preserving vital social programs, and defending vulnerable groups from discrimination - resonate with the values that our nation was founded upon. I urge you to stand in solidarity with these courageous citizens exercising their democratic right to peaceful assembly and civil disobedience. Lend your voice to this nationwide call for restoring integrity, equality, and justice to our political system. Support legislation and initiatives that address the grievances raised by these movements and work towards creating a more equitable society for all Americans.
