An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Defend Air Safety: Bar Elon Musk & DOGE from FAA Systems

55 so far! Help us get to 100 signers!

Today Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced “Big News — Talked to the DOGE team. They are going to plug in to help upgrade our aviation system.” It is hard to fathom the depth of misunderstanding of software development & testing, of air safety, and of the importance of public trust in the operation of our air transport system. In addition, I suspect that having DOGE “plug in” represents a serious breach of procurement procedures. The cavalier “move fast & break things” ethic of Silicon Valley and DOGE has *no place* in infrastructure that is critical to life, to safety, to the economy, and to the environment. Secretary Duffy must be held accountable and Democrats must use every available means to shut down Congress until the rule of law is restored and Elon Musk is barred from further sabotage of the essential tools of government. My family will not be flying in US airspace until we know that there is an impenetrable firewall between our “aviation system” and Elon Musk / DOGE.
