You wouldn’t leave a group of five year olds alone in a room with a box of matches and a gallon of gasoline. So why do you consistently leave Trump and his cabinet alone in a room with the nuclear football? Especially when they’ve proven again and again just how juvenile they can be? The little social media snippets from the night before last were scary for most Americans who follow the white house. Static? Interference superimposed over an American flag? The word launch? And then the videos were taken down sans explanation, and we’re just, what?, supposed to take it as a well meaning mishap? A prank? A joke? A juvenile act by a still wet behind the ears intern? This isn’t funny. It isn’t a joke. I know that to you, that means very little. You no longer relate to the people you serve. But to us, it means everything. This is literally our lives we are talking about. Our entire world sits in the palm of a very old, very spiteful, very orange man. Do better.
