An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Reform inhumane ICE abductions, uphold human rights

32 so far! Help us get to 50 signers!

I am calling for an immediate halt to the inhumane abductions carried out by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The recent detainment of a graduate student at the University of Alabama, who had been residing legally in the United States, is yet another appalling instance of ICE's overreach and disregard for human rights. This pattern of targeting innocent individuals, including scholars contributing to American academic excellence, is unacceptable. ICE's actions breed fear in communities and tear families apart, undermining the nation's principles of justice and compassion. We must reform these draconian policies and treat all people with the dignity they deserve, regardless of immigration status.
