An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Oppose the unconstitutional use of Alien Enemies Act

66 so far! Help us get to 100 signers!

The Trump administration's plan to use the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to deport immigrant gang members without due process is an unconstitutional abuse of power. This law from over 200 years ago was intended for declared wars, not modern immigration enforcement. Invoking it sidesteps legal protections and amounts to racial profiling and harassment of minority communities. We cannot selectively deny civil liberties based on associations or ethnicity. This represents an authoritarian overreach that undermines American values of justice and equal rights. I urge you to forcefully oppose this disturbing policy that scapegoats immigrants and violates constitutional principles.
