Court Orders Gender-Inclusive Passports, State Dept Must Obey

The State Department is willfully ignoring a federal court order that requires it to issue passports reflecting the gender identity of transgender and nonbinary individuals. This injunction mandates the restoration of self-designated gender markers, including the option “X,” yet transgender Americans continue to report denials and delays when applying for passports. This situation represents a blatant violation of the law and a cruel act of bureaucratic resistance. We demand that the Trump administration comply with the court’s ruling immediately and issue all gender-accurate passports without delay. No American should have to fight their government for recognition, and denying a federal court ruling is unacceptable. This obstruction must end now.
