Let the CDC do it’s job

Congress is one of the only bodies apart from the courts that can put a check on the harmful actions of the Trump administration. Here we are in the midst of a bad flu season that is clogging up clinics, ER’s and hospitals and the CDC has been silenced. Doctors and public health officials need access to the data that is not being released for unexplained reasons. 13000 have died from the flu this year with many more hospitalized and we’re not close to done. And then there is the bird flu which has a possibility of transitioning to human spread and could be potentially devastating if not contained. Information is ammunition in the fight against these diseases. Trump’s COVID inaction and misleading statements worsened that pandemic. Let’s not let that happen again. Now there is a vaccine sceptic at HHS so congressional oversight is even more important since so many of you threw Americans under the bus by confirming him. Let the CDC do what it is supposed to do.
