An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Protect the Roadless Rule — Oppose Any Rollback

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

Oppose any effort to rescind or weaken the 2001 Roadless Rule. This rule has protected 58.5 million acres of national forest from road construction and industrial logging for over two decades, and rolling it back would open some of America's last wild landscapes to irreversible damage. These roadless areas are not just scenic — they are critical watersheds that supply drinking water to millions of people, carbon stores that help offset climate change, and habitat for hundreds of threatened species. Once roads go in, the damage cannot be undone. No short-term economic argument justifies permanently sacrificing these public lands. The Roadless Rule has survived legal and political challenges for 20 years because it reflects what the American public actually wants. Stand against any attempt to rescind it.
