Governor Hobbs Must Take Action Against Secret Police & Immigration Abuses

I’m writing as a concerned resident of Arizona alarmed by the rise in masked, unidentified law enforcement officers operating in our communities, often in coordination with ICE and DHS. These tactics, reminiscent of past authoritarian regimes, are being used to disappear students/researchers, intimidate immigrants, and silence dissent. You have the executive power to respond. I urge you to: • Publicly support legislation like California’s No Secret Police Act, banning masked law enforcement during public operations. • Issue an executive order requiring all state and local law enforcement to display visible identification during enforcement actions and to refuse collaboration with federal agencies engaging in secretive immigration raids. • Use your platform to condemn politically motivated ICE activity and stand with immigrant and international communities under threat. This is about protecting civil liberties and stopping authoritarian overreach in our own state. I hope you’ll act decisively.
