I am writing to express my deep concern about the ongoing issues related to court orders that were supposed to block former President Trump from diverting taxpayer money from essential programs.
Despite these orders, many Head Start programs and community health centers are still struggling to access necessary funds, leading to closures and layoffs.
Recent events have raised alarm that Trump, Musk, and other oligarchs may openly defy the judiciary. Over the weekend, Elon Musk called for the impeachment of judges who ruled against Trump, and Vice-President Vance stated that "judges aren’t allowed to control the executive’s legitimate power," suggesting that such rulings could be a violation of the separation of powers.
This situation represents a critical inflection point in American history. How we respond now could define our future. I urge you to have a plan in place for responding if Trump or Musk defy court rulings. Additionally, please use all available tools to ensure that the rule of law and the Constitution of the United States are upheld. Publicly warn the White House of your commitment to these principles if you have not done so already.
