Stop letting Trump destroy things we cherish.

Block the Trump administration's plan to convert East Potomac Park into a private championship golf course. Photographs published by The Washington Post and The New York Times show plans to expand the golf course across the entire park, eliminating roughly 50 acres of public land used daily for picnicking, fishing, and cycling. Construction is reportedly set to begin September 1 — there is no time to waste. This park belongs to the public, not to a golf brand. The redesign would destroy Washington's oldest grove of cherry trees, gifted by Japan in 1910, along with the riverside bike trail and miniature golf course. An 1897 act of Congress established East Potomac Park explicitly for "the recreation and pleasure of the people" — Trump's plan tramples that mandate. Legal challenges are already before U.S. District Court, and I expect you to use every legislative tool available to halt this project and protect this irreplaceable public space.
