Tom Kean loves oppression. He needs to sit down.

Congressman Kean sent a letter to the mayor of Mount Olive extolling the virtues of and supporting the expansion of the Mount Olive police department. Kean loves to vote against anything that costs money and benefits the people, but throws himself behind projects that cost money and further oppress the people. Mount Olive has approximately 30,000 residents and relatively low crime rates. What little is there is mostly petty crime. Yet, the police department has crowd control equipment, paddy wagons, etc. There has never been a rational reason to own these things. And now an expansion? Shouldn’t we ask ourselves WHY? Let’s break it down. The mayor of Mount Olive, Joe Nicastro is a huge Trump fan. He loves ICE and the ICE facility, and anything else that protects his perceived status as a white middle class man in the United States of America. Recently, he held a council meeting during which he and his cronie Alex Roman stated that they and the Mount Olive police department would support ICE in whatever capacity was needed. The chief of the mount olive police department then delivered a short commentary wherein he basically admonished ICE and clarified that the mount olive police department would NOT be assisting or supporting them. And now, three months later, Kean sends a letter to the mayor supporting expansion of the police department… why? Because they want more cops- new cops- cops willing to cooperate with ICE on board. Tell Tom Kean, Mount Olive is fine without him- better, in fact- without him. When he starts giving a hoot about the community’s poor and hungry and unhoused, perhaps then he can weigh in on the state of law enforcement. Until then, he should shut up and sit down.
