Your lack of willingness to speak up for our government and institutions, and indeed your own power, is losing us our country. You are literally letting Trump become a tyrant in a country that has a very clear roadmap and history as to how to be a democratic republic. You should be stopping him. You can do it easily and well within your current power, simply by asserting the separation of powers and controlling the purse, like you’re supposed to.
People hate what Trump has been doing to our economy, to our citizens, to our jobs, and to our government. This is clear in every protest and at every town hall. Hold town halls and see for yourself. You would be LAUDED if you actually stood up for the American people at this point.
We do not want to be another Russia or the Philippines. We do not want a Putin or Duerte. We are America! We can do better. You need to take action now while we still have something left to fight for.
