Make ERCOT Fix The Power Grid!
2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!
The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) has issued a conservation appeal due to high temperatures, high demand, low wind, and declining solar power generation. This situation, while not an emergency, highlights the need for comprehensive grid reform. It is crucial that ERCOT, overseen by the Public Utility Commission of Texas and the Texas Legislature, takes immediate action to improve the resilience and reliability of the grid. This includes exploring alternative energy sources and enhancing infrastructure. The current reliance on voluntary reductions and out-of-state assistance is not sustainable. Therefore, it is requested that ERCOT be directed to prioritize grid reform and ensure a reliable power supply for all Texans. The need for conservation appeals should be minimized through proactive measures, not reactive requests.
