I am writing to formally record my unequivocal opposition to the following legislative proposals currently introduced or under consideration by Congress. I request that my opposition be noted for the record and that you cast a NO vote on each of the following measures:
1. H.R. 861 – To Terminate the Environmental Protection Agency
This bill seeks to abolish the EPA, thereby dismantling a critical federal body charged with enforcing environmental safeguards and protecting public health.
2. H.R. 610 – To Implement Federal Voucher Programs for Education
This measure proposes to reallocate public education funding to private institutions, effectively undermining the public education system and the principle of equal access to quality education.
3. H.R. 899 – To Terminate the Department of Education
The dissolution of the Department of Education would compromise federal oversight of education equity and strip protections for historically underserved populations.
4. H.J. Res. 69 – To Repeal Wildlife Protection Regulations
This resolution revokes Department of the Interior regulations that prohibit inhumane hunting practices on federal lands, representing a direct assault on conservation policy and biodiversity protection.
5. H.R. 370 – To Repeal the Affordable Care Act
Full repeal of the ACA would eliminate healthcare access for millions, exacerbate public health disparities, and destabilize the insurance market.
6. H.R. 354 – To Prohibit Federal Funding to Planned Parenthood
Defunding Planned Parenthood would impair access to critical preventive and reproductive healthcare services for low-income and underserved populations.
7. H.R. 785 – National Right-to-Work Legislation
This bill seeks to prohibit union security agreements nationwide, which would severely weaken collective bargaining rights and labor protections.
8. H.R. 83 – Mobilizing Against Sanctuary Cities Bill
This measure would penalize jurisdictions for exercising local discretion in immigration enforcement, raising constitutional and federalism concerns.
9. H.R. 147 – Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act
While presented as a civil rights measure, this bill would criminalize abortion decisions and infringe upon reproductive autonomy, with vague and selectively enforced provisions.
Collectively, these bills represent a coordinated legislative agenda aligned with the policy framework of Project 2025, which seeks to radically restructure the federal government and roll back fundamental civil, environmental, labor, and healthcare protections.
Enactment of any of these bills would materially harm the public interest and the constitutional balance between federal authority and individual rights.
Accordingly, I urge you in the strongest terms to vote NO on each of these measures and to publicly oppose the broader agenda from which they originate.
