An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Prioritize Wildlife and Ecosystems Over Livestock on Public Lands

88 so far! Help us get to 100 signers!

Public lands belong to all of us, and I want you to push for management policies that put wildlife, clean water, recreation, and healthy ecosystems first — not livestock production. The current prioritization of grazing on federal lands comes at a direct cost to the rest of us who depend on those lands for clean watersheds, biodiversity, and outdoor access. Overgrazing degrades riparian zones, compacts soil, and crowds out native species. Millions of Americans hike, fish, hunt, and camp on these lands every year. They deserve a management framework that reflects the full range of public values, not one that subsidizes a single industry at the expense of everything else. Please use your position to advance policies that rebalance public land management toward conservation and public use.
