An open letter to the U.S. Senate (Maine only)

Time for country before party. Cross the aisle. Defend the Constitution.

14 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

Senator, your compliance with illegal and unconstitutional measures from the Trump regime is an abject moral disgrace: a betrayal of your oath of office and your duty to constituents. Any four Republican Senators could stop this at any time simply by threatening to block all action (or even caucus with the Democrats) if Trump doesn't make certain concessions. Be one of those four. Please cross the aisle and sit with Angus. Did you know that Maine and Alaska are the states with the second highest and highest number of google searches last week? You are up for reelection in 2026. Accept that you will not be able to win. Now follow the example of Margaret Chase Smith. Call out illegality as well as bigotry. It's shocking that a person who swore an oath to the constitution and is chair of appropriations did not call out the unconstitutionality of impounding and blocking congressionally allocated spending. Do your job. Read the constitution. Stop putting party before country.
