Reject defunding public broadcasting's vital services

The President's proposal to defund public broadcasting is misguided and detrimental to communities across the nation. PBS and NPR stations provide invaluable educational content, emergency services, and local news coverage that would be sorely missed, especially in rural areas often overlooked by commercial media outlets. Stripping $1.1 billion in federal funding would force many stations to downsize significantly or shutter altogether, depriving Americans of trusted sources of information and programming. This rescission request represents an unnecessary attack on vital public institutions and a disservice to the citizens who rely on them. I urge Congress to reject this ill-advised measure and ensure continued funding for PBS, NPR, and public broadcasting as a whole.
