Support LGBTQ+ Nondiscrimination Protections Now

A recent Public Religion Research Institute survey of over 22,000 Americans found that 72% support LGBTQ+ rights and nondiscrimination protections. Support for same-sex marriage has climbed to 65%, up from 53% in 2015. Most Americans, 59%, oppose allowing businesses to refuse service to LGBTQ+ people based on religious claims. Even 71% agree that transgender people deserve the same rights and protections as other Americans. The vocal opposition to LGBTQ+ equality is exactly what it sounds like: a loud minority. The majority of Americans across political affiliations, including 49% of Republicans, now support same-sex marriage. This isn't a fringe position anymore. It's the mainstream.
