The Democratic label cannot be a permission slip for Republican politics.
I am asking you to publicly call on the Democratic representative for Oregon’s 5th Congressional District to resign from Congress and withdraw from the race.
She voted for the Laken Riley Act, a Republican-led immigration bill opposed by the majority of House Democrats because it expands detention and legitimizes MAGA’s criminalization of immigrant communities.
She also voted for a resolution thanking ICE at a time when immigrant communities are being targeted, detained, disappeared, and terrorized.
And now she has signed onto the “Promise to America” project, a centrist pledge that attacks the progressive wing of the Democratic Party instead of confronting the authoritarian right.
That is not courage. That is not accountability. That is not representation.
Oregon Democrats are being asked to organize, donate, volunteer, and vote to defend immigrant communities, civil rights, democracy, and working people.
We cannot do that while Democratic elected officials help validate Republican narratives on immigration, policing, borders, capitalism, and the left.
If the Democratic label can mean anything, it means nothing.
I am asking you to use your position, your platform, and your influence to call for her resignation and withdrawal so Democratic voters and party members in Oregon’s 5th Congressional District can choose a candidate who actually represents Democratic values.
