An open letter to the U.S. Senate

STOP an Oil Exec from Leading the Bureau of Land Management

2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

President Trump's latest nomination, Kathleen Sgamma, is a blatant attack on our public lands. As president of the oil industry trade group Western Energy Alliance, Sgamma has consistently opposed environmental protections and pushed for unfettered oil drilling on public lands. Confirming her as director of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) would be a disaster for our environment, increasing pollution, endangering ecosystems and animals, and fueling the climate crisis. The BLM oversees a quarter-billion acres of public land, and putting someone like Sgamma in charge is like handing the keys to the henhouse to the fox. We cannot let the "drill, baby, drill" agenda of the Republican Party take precedence over the preservation of our natural treasures. I urge you to stand against Sgamma's nomination and protect our public lands, wildlife, and future generations from the detrimental impacts of her leadership.
