Oppose S.234 – Performative Legislation Won’t Fix Public Safety

Moreover, S.234 is steeped in a misleading narrative that local prosecutors aren’t doing their jobs—an insinuation unsupported by data and dangerously rooted in partisan fearmongering. It is a cynical attempt to score political points while ignoring the complex realities of criminal justice, including racial disparities, systemic underfunding, and the urgent need for reform. Public safety deserves serious solutions, not hollow gestures. I urge you to oppose S.234 and support evidence-based approaches that strengthen community trust, promote accountability, and invest in real justice.
